The modernized Kalvarienberghof near Stühlingen close to the Swiss border is situated in an idyllic secluded location next to a chapel with a view of the Swiss mountains.
The Kalvarienberghof was a sacristan’s house for the adjoining chapel and was then run as a farm by the previous owners’ family for generations.
Driven by the desire to live more sustainably and closer to nature, the current owners decided to move from the city to the countryside in 2009 and breathe new life into the Kalvarienberghof. It is important to them to live in harmony with nature as much as possible and they have created a wonderful place.
The water on the farm comes from their own spring and rainwater is used for watering the garden. They have their own biological sewage treatment plant, which is why they only use fully biodegradable, biological cleaning, washing and cosmetic products.
Outside, in addition to the veranda and courtyard, there is a fire (ritual) area, a meadow at the edge of the forest and our own woodland areas for nature-based experiences.
A well-equipped kitchen with a large lounge is available for our meals. When the weather is fine, we can enjoy the breathtaking view of the mountains from the veranda and the courtyard.
The farm and forest areas belonging to the farm are cultivated ecologically and according to permaculture principles with fruit, grain and vegetable cultivation.
We love home-made, natural, organic FOOD, dishes and drinks without chemicals and additives, produced as locally and sustainably as possible.
Modern, quiet rooms with separate bathroom and covered balcony offer a comfortable retreat and a relaxing night’s sleep.
Please enquire about taking pets with you. We allow “media fasting” (digital detox), which means there is no WLAN, and cell phone reception is only moderate. This helps us to really focus our attention on ourselves and go inwards during this seminar.
On our farm grounds there is a fire place, a sunbathing lawn and various cozy, romantic places with seating, such as benches or seating groups. You can watch the sunset from the pond and enjoy the view of the Alps from the bench in front of the chapel on a clear day.
